Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:00 AM-2:30 PM
Role and Responsibilities: CMSP LLC is now hiring a Composite Technician with Layup and Material Preparation experience, preferably in the aerospace industry.
Job Summary: The Composite Material Prep Lay-Up Technician is responsible for preparing and laying up composite materials in accordance with engineering specifications to create high-performance components. Attention to detail, safety, and quality control are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Preparation: Prepare composite materials according to specified requirements. Cut, trim, and measure materials as needed for each part.
- Lay-Up Process: Perform hand lay-up and/or automated lay-up of composite materials onto molds, ensuring correct fiber orientation, material layering, and proper adhesion of materials.
- Curing: Operate autoclaves or other curing systems to harden composite materials and ensure structural integrity of the final part.
- Quality Control: Inspect the lay-up process to ensure parts meet quality standards. Perform visual checks for defects, air pockets, or other inconsistencies.
- Work Instructions & Specifications: Follow detailed technical drawings, specifications, and work orders to complete composite lay-ups in compliance with aerospace standards.
- Documentation: Accurately record work progress, materials used, and any deviations from standard procedures.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications in composites or aerospace technology are a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience working with composite materials in aerospace or a related industry is preferred. Experience in composite lay-up, trimming, and weighing is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of various composite materials and their properties.
- Proficiency with hand tools, cutting tools, and molding equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and focus on quality assurance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
