Duties:
Provide design and construction oversight of structural engineering tasks on assigned SRR Engineering Teams. Structural engineering tasks include:
- analysis of structural systems for both static and dynamic loads using manual computation and computer programs
- design of concert structures
- design of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, timber, and composite structures
- foundation and anchorage design
- structural analysis for impact, overpressure, and other accident condition
- preparation of CSI specifications
- and review of vendor documents.
Individuals at times will be required to travel off-site to interface with vendors, fabricators, and other engineer organizations.
Engineering services will be provided using SRR processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRR.
Required Qualifications
Education:
B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, or current registration as a Professional in either Civil or Structural Engineering
Experience/Skills:
- Candidate must demonstrate five (5) years' experience in design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities. Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of STAAD.
- Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD and LRFD), ACI, AWS, NFPA, and OSHA.
- Candidate demonstrating experience in 2D Microstation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) is preferred.
- Candidate must have the ability to walk down systems in the field.
Work Hours:
A 40 hours work week is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours /day; four days per week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day; five days on week A and four days on week B). Work week excludes SRR holidays. Each workday has a 30-minute lunch.
