We’re currently seeking a highly motivated Construction Project Manager located in Portland, OR.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma
Required Certifications/Licenses:
- OSHA 10 hour (within the past 3 years)
- Confined Space Entry, Hazard Recognition, and Evaluation (within the past 3 years)
- Excavation/Trench Hazard Recognition and Evaluation (within the past 3 years)
- First Aid/CPR
- Erosion Control
Required Qualifications:
In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities.
- 10 years of relevant experience as a resident engineer or construction manager.
- Skill in performing critical path scheduling, cost estimating, and claims management.
- Detail oriented, and able to work independently and in teams.
- Experience reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with eBuilder construction management software is a plus.
- Construction management and Microsoft computer software.
- Public works project management principles, processes, systems, and techniques.
- Pump Station, electrical and/or mechanical facilities
- Practices of civil engineering, infrastructure design and construction.
- Federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations regarding public works construction.
- Trends, approaches, and problem-solving techniques used in construction, engineering, inspection and compliance processes.
- Modern methods of construction and structural design concepts.
- Techniques, equipment, and materials used in public works construction.
- Construction site safety practices and procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferable.
Responsibilities:
- Perform construction management as the Owner’s Representative on assigned projects ranging from $500k to $10M with Contract Times of 6 months to 2 years.
- Under general direction, organizes, oversees, and coordinates large, complex public works construction projects. Coordinates work with the City’s construction inspector, project engineer, and contractor during construction.

- Develop persuasive oral presentations of ideas and recommendations.
- Interpret and apply complex rules, regulations, laws, and ordinances.
- Provide assistance and leadership on all aspects of assigned projects.
- Analyze technical design engineering, construction engineering and surveying problems.
- Evaluate alternative project approaches and adopt effective solutions.
- Prepare accurate and detailed written material, including staff and administrative reports.
- Exercise sound, independent judgment, and initiative within established guidelines.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse workforce and community.
Salary:
- $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
Bonus Pay:
A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at management’s discretion.
