Sr. Manager – Category Lead & PMO

This is a competitive position at AstraZeneca, the largest pharmaceutical company in China. This position reports to AZ China Procurement Head directly, focusing on China market and Regional allocated procurement strategic topics and initiatives as well as leading Category Procurement activities. You will be expected to work closely with China Procurement leadership team and APAC Regional Procurement leadership team to undertake strategic planning, manage local strategic projects and collaborate with regional team for APAC strategy China deployment. You will also lead Professional Service Category/Fleet procurement activities to empower business needs from AZ China X-functions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

Strategic planning and implementation: 35%

• Develop mid-to-long term strategy and conduct annual strategic planning for AZ China Procurement Department
• Connect strategy and planning to initiatives and programs to pull China strategic directions through to the next level of operational planning and execution
• Support China Procurement Head for transformation model success
• Enable senior management to evaluate strategy implementation through a consistent lens

Project Management 50%

• Set up project management governance, develop tools, and deliver transformative initiatives that enable AZ China Procurement to achieve strategic objectives
• Regularly monitor project progress to make sure on-time achievement of milestones / KPIs
• Organize and facilitate overall cross-functional team meetings, and provide constructive feedback to improve delivery of corporate strategic projects
• Make records of the decision, alignment, issues, and next steps proposed in meetings
• Ensure information transparency and secure visibility of project progress and risks across project teams
• Identify potential risks and support mitigation plan, and accelerate problem solving through proper escalation
• Support ad-hoc project(s) or analysis/reporting to China leadership or Global Procurement team on timely base

Category management 15%

• Lead Professional Service and Fleet category procurement activities 
• Work closely with regional/global category leads to deploy global strategy to China or develop China strategy upon business needs
• Accountable for global procurement scorecard for related category
• Collaborate with Procurement BP to empower business initiatives with professional support

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree and above, preferably in Supply Chain, Business Management, or other relevant areas, MBA degree is plus
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in healthcare industry, preferably in strategic planning, PMO, procurement, brand marketing, or management consulting
• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking ability
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent project management capabilities
• Experience and proven success in working with cross-functional teams
• Quick learning ability
• Can work under pressure
• Proficient in oral and written English
