What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2025 Summer Internship position at CNB Bank and Trust, N.A.?
Primary Projects and Responsibilities:
- Learns to interview applicants and request specified information for loan application; request appraisals, applicant credit reports, background checks, reference checks, and other information pertinent to evaluation of loan application; analyze applicant financial status, credit and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan; and correspond with or interview applicant or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information.
- Assists in compiling loan package and facilitates negotiation with applicant through the supervisor according to established standards, such as fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms; refers loan to loan committee for approval; ensures loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy; assures timely loan closing and funding activities.
- Learn about benefits of government programs when deemed necessary to meet customer’s credit needs.
- Assure delivery of exceptional customer service by adhering to the Bank’s written customer service standards. Serve both external and internal customers following Bank standards in a professional, efficient, and courteous manner and, where applicable, provide effective problem resolution as required.
- Assists customers with inquiries and information requests and resolves complaints relating to loan products and services offered.
- Participate in collection procedures and processes of the loan officers to assure the timely collection of all delinquent accounts and develop revised loan repayment terms or schedules as necessary.
- Assist with farm and floorplan visits.
- Exposure to Wealth Management and Investment departments
Basic Qualifications:
- Finance, Accounting, or Ag Business major
- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong time management skills and ability to multitask
- Good communication skills
- Background in Agriculture preferred
Work Schedule and Location:
- Part-Time, Temporary Position in our Jacksonville, Illinois and Chapin, Illinois facilities
- 10 to 12-week program and open to adjustment based on intern’s availability
- 8-16 hours per week, 8 am to 5 pm
- Temporary employees are not eligible for benefits other than participation in the 401(k) plan if they meet criteria.
