Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cabinet Maker to join our team. As a Cabinet Maker, you will be responsible for building, installing, and repairing custom cabinets and furniture. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry and cabinetmaking. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with power tools, read blueprints, and perform heavy lifting. Additionally, experience with computers and CNC programing is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Construct custom cabinets, shelves, and other furniture pieces using a variety of materials such as wood, metal, and glass.
- Build and install cabinets, including assembling and installing hardware, doors, and drawers.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical drawings to ensure accurate construction and installation.
- Utilize power tools such as table saws, planers, and drill presses to cut, shape, and finish wood and other materials.
- Perform heavy lifting, carrying, and moving of materials and finished products.
- Restore and refinish existing cabinets and furniture pieces to a high standard.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as carpenters and electricians, to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
Skills:
- Proficiency with power tools and heavy machinery
- Strong understanding of carpentry and cabinetmaking
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical drawings
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and other physically demanding tasks
- Knowledge of remodeling and construction techniques
- Familiarity with masonry and other construction materials
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision and accuracy
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
