The Production Manager is a key position sitting between creative / editorial, video production, social media, legal and finance. This position is an important role that ensures the various creative / editorial projects run smoothly – from creating budgets and onboarding contributors to final payments and budget actualization.
This role requires an organized operational facilitator with a creative problem-solving mindset that adds a can-do energy to big-picture programs and a detail-oriented focus to logistical production tasks.
Candidates should have experience working with all relevant teams and across multiple, simultaneous projects of varying complexity and budgets as well as a deep knowledge of industry best practices, rates, and creative standards.
What You'll Do :
- Oversee budget creation and management for editorial and client-based productions.
- Oversee budget actualization and tracking to maintain overall departmental needs in real time.
- Execute expense reports for large and small scale projects across a variety of creative disciplines
- Oversee, implement and streamline best practices for freelancer and third party onboarding and payroll.
- Track and confirm contracts, rights, clearances, releases and licenses for projects.
- Establish and maintain clear expectations and deliverables for on-time execution between production and sales
- Work closely with producers and photo editors at all levels to troubleshoot logistics from pre-post.
- Work closely with video / social / photo / sales teams to make sure that projects’ and contributors’ information are updated and current regarding budget and tracking .
- Identify and implement production efficiencies, policies, and workflows for internal and external teams
- Liaise with legal team to negotiate and execute deals with third party vendors, talent and partners
- Liaise with finance and sales to establish and maintain ongoing budgets across editorial and sponsored programs
- Liaise with the procurement to onboard freelance contributors and vendors and ensure timely payment.
- Liaise with travel team to ensure production needs (i.e.flights, hotels) are met and executed across all ongoing travel
- Liaise with creative internal teams (editorial, photo, social) to streamline and maximize production efforts
