We are actively seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Grand Island, NE.
- Establish methods and standards for new/changed parts. Work closely with design engineering and plant operations in developing processes. Assist in the development of new products with manufacturing requirements as part of the development process.
- Analyze, document, investigate and implement corrections for process failures; and initiate and implement cost reductions.
- Provide leadership and work with other functions to help the plant meet goals in safety, quality, ISO standard certification, schedule performance, inventory management and cost management. Other duties may include the need to establish economical manufacturing routings for a wide range of materials including castings and weldments.
- Develop and implement capital projects to improve material flow, reduce floor space requirements, or reduce costs. Assist in the development of justification for new capital equipment and manage the installation and startup of the new equipment.
- Provide support and participate in new product launch teams.
- Select correct tooling for new processes. Lead or assist in the design of new or revised tooling to be used in all phases of the manufacturing process, including fabrication, welding, and assembly.
- Provide production support in areas of safety, quality, throughput improvement, line balancing, tooling engineering, inventory management, and cost optimization.
The Qualified Candidate Will Have
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, Agricultural or Mechanical) or an Associates Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, Agricultural or Mechanical) and at least 3 years of related Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics work experience.
- We will consider candidates enrolled in an Engineering degree program with manufacturing co-op or internship experience.
- 4 years in a manufacturing.
- Proficiency in Pro-E preferred
- Working knowledge of manufacturing techniques.
- Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement experience.
