We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Quality Process Engineer in Racine, WI. Our 600,000 square foot manufacturing plant is located just 30 minutes south of downtown Milwaukee and 30 minutes north of Gurnee, Illinois. In this role, you will work with a team of engineers responsible for improving worker safety, product quality, manufacturing efficiency (delivery and cost) through analyzing current methods, new methods, new technologies and cost reduction activities in selected areas.
Responsibilities
- Report to plant Quality Manager for the consistent implementation of all initiatives through the Quality Management Systems with focus on continuously improving Quality KPIs.
- Track and manage internal Quality indicators such as OKOL, FTQ, OTD, ADPU, etc. and champion continuous improvement activities and gap closure with containment, root cause, and corrective action.
- Utilize Lean tools for Root Cause problem solving on top manufacturing quality issues.
- Participate in Lean Daily Management daily walks to represent quality and be part of the core area cross functional team to cooperatively close top issues for an area of the plant.
- Lead cross-functional special projects to drive continuous improvements, especially related to quality and including internal and external customers.
- Be the area subject matter expert on Quality policies and procedures, especially those affecting the manufacturing plant.
- Internal liaison for all ISO standards, activities, and adherence.
- Develop and share best practices and assist with implementation as needed, based on Industrial and Quality strategic business plan.
The annual salary for this role is $70,500-$103,400 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
Qualifications
The qualified candidate will have:
- BS in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 2 years of experience in heavy equipment manufacturing. Desired experience to include:
- Manufacturing Processes
- Quality Processes and Systems
- Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, specifically in a manufacturing environment. Ability to work with Statistical tools.
- Ability to work in a cross functional team environment, making timely decisions and taking actions independently.
- Ability to effectively communicate on all levels.
- Intermediate GD&T Blueprint reading.
