Position Summary

The Senior Director of Programs is a key member of the Program Leadership Team at CNM Ingenuity, Inc. (Ingenuity), a non-profit Research Park entity of CNM. The Senior Director of Programs is responsible to lead over $5M annually in program and partnership execution, development and expansion overseeing and managing the strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of programs within an organization. This position provides leadership and guidance to program managers, ensuring that program objectives are met and aligned with the organization's mission and goals. The Senior Director of Programs plays a key role in resource allocation, budgeting, and monitoring program performance. The role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, build partnerships, and identify opportunities for program expansion and improvement. The director will relish collaboration with a diverse set of stakeholders and effectively manage the ambiguous transition of responsibilities from program initiation, growth to stable operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Program Review & Development

  • Serves on the Program Leadership Team at Ingenuity establishes logical, increasingly advanced systems and tools to evaluate, initiate and implement new programs and services.
  • Demonstrates business acumen in continuing existing programs or selecting new programs and Services.
  • Understands the required process steps in partnering with a higher education institution in developing pathways from non-credit to credit, Credit for Prior Learning, identifying industry certifications, establishing brand credibility in nationally recognized certifications, and coordinating those activities in building excellent high performing non credit or credit programs or services.
  • Demonstrates initiative in identifying and developing innovative programs or solutions for, including but not limited to:
  • (a) emerging trends in workforce needs and training delivery early in the business development growth curve
  • (b) Serve as a member of the College-wide Integrated Program Review (CIPR) triage, review and recommendation, and leadership teams.
  • (c) Directs business development team and program or instructional staff in rapid development of complex customized training courses to meet external client workforce needs.
  • Directs the activities of a portfolio of programs including, but not limited to: (a) planning, designing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating academic and workforce education programs;
  • (b) tracking academic and workforce education projects;
  • (c) continually examine and update (as needed) processes, procedures, systems, standards, and/or service offerings;
  • (d) ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards.

Financial Management

  • Formalizes financial planning and budgeting tools in partnership with the non-profit associate comptroller at CNM to continuously evaluate program performance against market research expectations.
  • Balances program financial performance against the performance of the portfolio of programs to maximize learner outcomes, understanding the portfolio is expected to grow to financial stability.
  • Seeks grants and contracts to start and sustain new and leading programs to grow Ingenuity. Can be expected to be the principal investigator on grants.
  • Serves as fiscal control agent for programs and assists with fiscal responsibilities; participates in the development of alternative funding streams and oversight of contracts and grants.
  • Participates in the development of alternative funding streams.
  • Evaluates, develops and manages revenue diversification strategies; examples include licensing opportunities and State contracts.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with local, state, and national organizations in non- credit and workforce development.

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with local, state, and national organizations.
  • Works collaboratively with other college and community leaders to ensure CNM and Ingenuity are meeting the needs of learners, entrepreneurs, employers, and stakeholder partners.
  • Works with college and community leaders to promote programs and to successfully meet deliverables in grants and contracts.
  • Serves on various college, local, state, and national committees as a representative of Ingenuity.
  • Represents Ingenuity and the college and promotes community and advisory participation in CNM programs; serves on internal and external committees and acts as a communications liaison in support of committee initiatives.
  • Seeks opportunities to serve on business advisory councils and other community organizations to build partnerships for program and institutional success.

Leadership

  • Supervises a talented group of professional program directors and their staff, building the team in alignment with CNM and Ingenuity's vision and mission.
  • Performs excellent management practices in performance management, hiring, training, and professional development.
  • Supports staff to develop strategies for instruction that are consistent with achieving the
  • objectives of Ingenuity and CNM, such as increasing enrollment and job placement.
  • Assists the CEO with the department's strategic planning process, monitoring and formulating projections of goals and objectives; monitors and manages progress toward achievement of goals resulting in increased revenue and asset utilization.
  • Responds to escalated instructor, staff, and student concerns; mediates student and staff issues, and grade appeals, coordinating with the Dean of Students, Human Resources, and others as appropriate.
  • Fosters a data-driven and data-informed culture in the division and works across functional areas to ensure that current. accurate data and records are maintained and timely reports are created/disseminated. Ability to pivot direction in an agile, fluid manner based on the data analysis.
  • Fosters an entrepreneurial mindset culture, with emphasis on innovation and embracing ambiguity.
  • Seeks grants and contracts to start and sustain new and leading programs in order to grow Ingenuity and expected to be the principal investigator on grants.
  • Demonstrates initiative in identifying and developing programs for emerging trends in workforce needs and training delivery early in the business development growth curve.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifcations:

  • Bachelor's degree

AND

  • Ten (10) years of experience

Decisive Leadership: Skilled at leading teams to make timely decisions and ensuring rapid execution of plans. Balances strategic thinking with operational efficiency to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
