Your New Role…
CNN Digital Products & Services is seeking an experienced Senior Product Designer with proven expertise in evaluating, designing and optimizing advertising product experiences. As a Senior Product Designer, you will join CNN’s industry-leading Digital Products & Services Design team, focused on developing innovative solutions that advance CNN's business goals and engage consumers of CNN content with advertising experiences that are impactful, relevant, and respectful of our customers.
You will design end-to-end user experiences for advertising across CNN owned and operated properties, including the footprints, interactions, and formats readers see on our websites and mobile devices. You will explore, evaluate, and design innovative new ways of exchanging value with consumers of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities, and partner with other CNN teams that work on our design system and the foundations of our digital experiences, such as page templates and the content management system. You will partner with CNN’s research team to help CNN better understand how consumers interact with our ad products, discover new ways of engaging consumers, and champion their needs in each stage of the product lifecycle.
The ideal candidate has a creative and analytical mindset, with the ability to evaluate design decisions from business, user, and technical perspectives. They are passionate about the impact of design on product success and user experience, and have a proactive and collaborative work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams. They can also successfully work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $107,100.00 - $198,900.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.

Your Role Accountabilities…
- Research: Collaborate with user research and data analytics teams to gather insights and identify opportunities for optimizing revenue from advertising in relevant channels. Understand user needs, business objectives, and competitive landscape.
- Design: Translate research insights into compelling, intuitive, and effective designs. Sketch and prototype ideas to quickly assess viability and design the fine-grained details of user interactions.
- Documentation: Ensure design specifications and deliverables are well-documented for crossfunctional teams. Maintain and evolve design systems and guidelines to ensure consistency and high quality of designs across the platform.
- Optimization: Use metrics and user feedback to define and implement design improvements. Work closely with product management, engineering, and marketing to iterate on and optimize designs for better performance and engagement.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and marketers, to bring compelling designs to life.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in product design, with a focus on display advertising or digital media.
- Strong understanding of the technical aspects of ad creation, implementation, and optimization, preferably for web, mobile apps, and video.
- Expertise with design and prototyping in Figma; experience with Design Systems managed using the Figma platform.
- Experience advocating for user needs, while balancing them with revenue considerations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic, rapidly growing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to tackle complex design challenges and supply well thought out, data driven solutions.
- Experience using quantitative data and/or qualitative insights to inform design decisions.
- Knowledge of current advertising product design trends and technologies.
- Experience with revenue optimization for display ads and other monetization strategies.
- Portfolio displaying strong visual designs and understanding of user experiences.
