The stated pay range is based on a national-average location. Actual salary is determined by factors including relevant work experience, skills and location. This position is bonus eligible.

Optavise, a CNO Financial Group Company, is seeking a Billing Analyst to join our Accounting Department and take responsibility for the company’s billing operations. This person will ensure timely and accurate billing to clients and proper revenue reporting. The Billing Analyst will coordinate with other departments to ensure new contracts are correctly billed. This role will also drive process improvements and develop new tools as needed to track billing adjustments or any other non-standard items.

As a Billing Analyst your responsibilities will include:

• Process billing change orders, pre and post billing reports, produce and send out invoices for certain types of services, and participate in monthly billing call.
• Integrate invoicing details into accounting system.
• Align insurance carrier receipts with contract stipulations and ensure carrier changes are promptly updated in the billing process.
• Reconcile monthly commission and subsidy receipts with client credits. Communicate with internal staff and external partners to secure funds as necessary.
• Work with internal staff and insurance carriers as needed to ensure proper appointment paperwork is completed to start the flow of funds on behalf of our clients.
• Monitor changes in commission and subsidy receipts associated with our clients’ plan coverage changes.
• Conduct a regular analysis of client and carrier receipts.
• Support collections efforts as needed.
• Work with contract renewal team to provide analytical reports.
• Identify opportunities for process standardization and improvement.

The Billing Analyst position is well-suited for you if you:

• Have experience in revenue analysis, billing, and invoicing processes.
• Exercise good judgement, prioritizing tasks and following the processes designed for proper invoicing by service type.
• Demonstrate problem-solving and communication skills required to work effectively with others.
• Utilize systems for billing and accounting.
• Have excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel (pivot tables & large data sets).
• Work with data integrations and queries.
• Communicate effectively and work effectively with team members.
• Demonstrate good organizational and time-management skills.
• Pay attention to details and comfortably meet tight deadlines.

What you’ll need:

• Associate's Degree or 4 years of directly related experience.
• 1 year of experience in billing and/or invoicing.
• Knowledge of Advanced excel formulas to include, Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and If/then statements.
• Flexibility to match schedule of teammates in Eastern Time Zone.

What will set you apart:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting /Finance/Business or 8 years of experience.
• Experience with NetSuite.
• 3-5 years of experience working as a Billing Analyst or similar accounting position.
• Analytical work experience.
