Optavise, a CNO Financial Group Company, is seeking a UI/UX Designer to join our team. This position combines analytical and creative skills by translating complex business requirements into intuitive and visually appealing human interfaces. This person will work with multiple types of team members, including stakeholders, product owners, quality assurance, developers, and multiple technology stacks across the CNO worksite division, working on established products and greenfield projects using modern principles and industry best practices.

As a UI/UX Designer, your responsibilities will include:
- Working on projects from inception to launch, performing tasks such as user analysis, requirements definition, conceptual design, interaction design, interface specification, and training other designers as needed.
- Collaborating with internal product and development teams to design human interfaces that meet the required features and are obtainable by technology.
- Rapidly prototyping UX solutions for internal and external products to drive conversion and increase productivity (Mockups, Wireframes, Prototypes).
- Discussing prototypes with stakeholders and incorporating their feedback, shortening the feedback loop before development.
- Delivering assets and specs to developers, and validating that designs are implemented according to specifications.
- Creating and maintaining a design system that can be leveraged across our portfolio of companies.
- Closely collaborating with the product management, business, marketing, and technology teams to understand business, technical, and user requirements and dependencies.
- Providing clear documentation for designs and working with Agile teams through the implementation process, reviewing and ensuring designs are accurately executed.
The UI/UX Designer position is well-suited for you if you:
- Have a demonstrated ability to be both creative and analytical
- Understand Visual Design such as Color Theory, Typography, Iconography, Layout, Motion, and Cohesiveness.
- Have excellent communication skills when speaking to both technical and business team members.
- Have expert knowledge of product design patterns for web and mobile.
- Can actively listen to and incorporate feedback from stakeholders, ensuring that designs align with company and project goals.
What you’ll need:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of experience as a user experience designer, user interface designer, or other equivalent title in an Agile software development team.
- Prior experience with HML/CSS/jQuery
What will set you apart:
- Knowledge of employee benefits or benefits administration systems
- Prior experience with tools such as Figma and/or Adobe CC Suite
- Experience defining and managing a formal usability testing program for web, responsive mobile, and native mobile apps.
- Understanding of Web Content Accessibility Group (WCAG 2.0) compliance.
