What are the responsibilities and job description for the Athletic Trainer position at CNOS?
CNOS is actively seeking three Full-Time Athletic Trainers for Morningside University, Iowa Central Community College and South Sioux City High School.
This candidate will provide preventative care, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. He/she will supervise the daily operation of the athletic training room to ensure smooth operation of the treatment and care of the student athletes. Works with athletes to rehab injuries and provide a plan for getting athletes back to game-ready status. Prepares athletes for practices and games by taping and wrapping and helping with modalities needed before the athlete participates. Provides coverage of games where necessary and works with athletes when any injuries arise during game play. Documenting injury notes and communicating with CNOS physicians on the care of student athletes.
Candidate will also have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within the multiple ancillary services that CNOS provides, such as Sports Performance, Athletic Training coverage of area special events and outreach high schools, Physical Therapy services, and (DME) Durable Medical Equipment.
Education and Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree in related field and Board of Certification required.
2. Master’s degree preferred.
3. Eligible for license in Iowa and/or Nebraska.
4. New graduates encouraged to apply.
Work Schedule
1. Varied shifts during the week.
2. Mostly afternoon, evening, athlete practice and event coverage.
3. Year round position.
4. Must be available to work weekends.
Certification:
1. Board Certification required.
2. State of Iowa license required.
3. CPR and BLS certification.
