Full Job Description
CNY Fertility Center Albany, NY is seeking a full-time Embryologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, a team player, technically skilled, and be highly motivated. Applicant must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, be able to communicate accurately and concisely, have the ability to work successfully under stressful conditions, and must be capable of adapting to varying workloads. Weekend and holiday rotation is required. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Main Function: To perform procedures associated with Embryology and Andrology laboratories
Duties and Responsibilities: To assist in coordinating the daily operation of the Embryology and Andrology laboratories including instrument maintenance, quality control, quality assurance, employee training and ordering of supplies. To perform all procedures in Embryology including oocyte retrieval ,oocyte insemination, ICSI, embryo assisted hatching, fertilization assessment and embryo grading, embryo transfers, embryo cryopreservation, and other duties as requested.
Experience: Preferred laboratory experience
Summary: Performs all assigned laboratory testing and reporting procedures by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Performs laboratory testing to include procedures within IVF laboratory: oocyte retrievals, embryo assessment, ICSI, embryo transfer, dish preparation, embryo cryopreservation, embryo warming, micromanipulation and sterile techniques and other duties as requested.
2. Performs required quality control, quality assurance, and proficiency testing. *
3. Maintains stock of necessary reagents and materials, and orders supplies as needed. *
4. Lifts and carries laboratory equipment, supplies, liquid nitrogen dewars, samples and other materials throughout the work area. *
5. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Science, Medical Technology or equivalent from four-year college or university; ASCP certification preferred.
