Our Accounts Receivable Department has an immediate opening for a skilled specialist processing Workers Compensation and No-Fault claims. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of Medical Billing, working on incoming payments, denials, reconsiderations, appeals and knowledge of using CARISK. This specialist will have both a day-to-day and ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time and on good terms with both the insurance carriers and our patients.
In addition to a Medical Billing background, the candidate should also possess some basic bookkeeping or financial background.
Objectives of this role
- Support the company in optimizing our financial transactions and systems by performing reconciliation of payments and customer accounts.
- Communicate discrepancies to management team, identify slow-paying insurance carriers.
- Strengthen and grow relationships with both the insurance representatives and our patients by communicating and seeking resolution of past-due accounts.
- Assist in streamlining the accounts receivable process by identifying areas for performance improvement.
- Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting and comply with the national and local financial requirements.
Responsibilities
- Gather and verify clinical notes and claims for appropriate documentation prior to payment
- Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure ageing is up to date.
Required skills and qualifications
- Strong mathematical skills
- Understanding workers’ compensation and no-fault and use of CARISK
- Understanding payments, retractions and denials
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Minimum of two years’ experience with Medical and Insurance billing
- Experience in accounts receivable
- Experience in driving process improvement
- Experience using the CARISK website
Job Type – Full Time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
