The Project Architect/ Project Manager position at CO Adaptive spans both the Architecture and Construction operations. We are looking for an individual with a professional degree in architecture, preferably a Masters in Architecture, along with 6 years experience post-graduation, with at least 2 years as a Registered Architect in projects of similar scale and typology that align with CO Adaptive’s portfolio. This role is central to supporting the work of our current team, and carries the opportunity to take on greater responsibility as the practice grows. We are looking for an individual who believes in the mission of the organization, and is enthusiastic about streamlining our operations, nurturing our culture, and furthering the practice.
The ideal candidate has strong communication skills and can effectively manage project budgets, schedules, client expectations, and consultant deliverables. A seasoned knowledge of Revit is preferred but we can train if needed.
This individual will need to be highly organized, detail oriented, ambitious, and energetic in taking ownership of work they are responsible for, and possess excellent understanding of various assemblies and construction typologies. They should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and are able to effectively juggle multiple tasks at the same time. They are curious, outgoing, and eager to work with a growing staff of 18 fun, creative, and caring humans.
The Project Architect/ Project Manager role includes daily responsibilities that may straddle both Construction Management and Project Management, as CO Adaptive’s work squarely operates as both the general contractor and architect in many of the projects that we take on. They will work directly with our amazing carpentry and in-house millwork teams and help to streamline our feedback loops between the practice’s design and building operations. This role will also entail effectively delegating to and monitoring work of senior designers and designers, alongside meeting with the Architecture and Construction Directors regularly for feedback.
Project Architects / Project Managers are key members of CO Adaptive’s design team; responsible for supporting the Directors and focusing their key tasks to successful management of projects and coordinating with project team members (internal and external). They are the prime interface with the clients.
Specifically they will be responsible for the following tasks:
CO Adaptive offers a competitive compensation and benefits package that includes contributions of $600/ month towards the employee selected plan from top tier carriers and an employer matching 401K plan. In the first year of employment, CO Adaptive includes 13 days of PTO; with an increase of 2 days of PTO each year thereafter, plus up to 5 days of sick pay annually.
~ Employees receive 18 paid holidays per year, including Earth Day and Juneteenth, plus a seven-day paid break at year-end with exact dates set annually. Team members also receive five PTO days for professional development and continuing education, plus five sick leave days. Additionally, we conduct quarterly evaluations with opportunities for salary increases at each review.
CO Adaptive’s compensation packages reflect our commitment to offering fair wages that are benchmarked against market standards and cost of living benchmarks, as well as firmwide pay equity initiatives. The salary range for this position at the time of posting is $80,000 – $105,000 per year. Final compensation will be commensurate with experience.
