What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Clinical Director position at CO-OP?
CO-OP, a growing nonprofit organization in Southeastern MA providing quality services to adults with developmental and other disabilities, is seeking dedicated, energetic and caring people to join our team.
CO-OP has 33 residential homes and 5 day programs. Our 24/7 supervised residential programs focus on a person-centered planning approach and working with individuals to create homes adapted to meet individual needs. We provide support in the areas of life skills, social skills, and community integration with an emphasis on pursing personal goals and interests.
The Assistant Clinical Director is responsible for assisting the Clinical Director in the development, delivery, and monitoring of Agency Psychology services which a redesigned to enrich the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least one of the following, be currently licensed in Massachusetts as a psychologist, clinical social worker, an applied behavior analyst, masters level speech pathologist (SLP), licensed mental health counselor or have a masters in education with a certificate in special education.
Three years training in functional based behavioral assessments.
Possession of a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record, and an agreement to use one’s personal vehicle for business purposes if so required.
Three years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
Acceptable Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and fingerprint check.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Ensure appropriate implementation of Psychology programs and therapies through on going observations, meetings, and information-sharing with staff, Clinical Assistants, Program Managers, and Coordinators, as assigned.
In coordination with the Clinical Director provide training and supervision to clinical staff, conduct their respective performance evaluations: and implement disciplinary procedures as necessary.
Assist in the collection, interpretation, summarizing and graphing of data as assigned by the Clinical Director.
Uphold all guiding principles of Positive Behavior Support as guided and assigned by the Clinical Director.
Assist and train staff in implementation of all behavioral/therapy programs and crisis intervention procedures and evaluate program efficacy.
Assist in the development and ensure the completion of service documentation requirements including, but not limited to,data collection, progress notes, support strategies, annual and semi-annual assessments and reports.
Assist in ongoing staff training through Behavior Review Meetings, focusing on positive behavioral support strategies.
Conduct individual therapy programs, including counseling, relaxation therapy, and other skills training programs.
Implement procedures for ensuring that all behavioral programs/therapies are based on individual competencies and needs, and are reflective of rights and dignity, in conformance with Agency philosophy.
Participate in medication/psychiatric review process through data summaries, anecdotal reporting and attendance at meetings, as assigned by Clinical Director.
Provide therapeutic interventions related to developing social skills, general relaxation,identifying coping skills and positive replacement behavior.
Ensure timely and periodic communication of relevant information to external parties including but not limited to: DDS and Public School personnel, parents/guardians, and Residential or Day Program providers, as applicable.
Provide corrective feedback to Program staff relative to implementation of behavioral/therapy programs
Serve as liaison between Agency and outside mental health providers, as necessary. Attend appointments as needed ensuring current behavioral and nursing data is available.
Assist Clinical Director in developing and maintaining up to date Medication Treatment Plans for individuals receiving psychotropic medications.
Keep Clinical Director informed of programmatic and personnel issues as they relate to the delivery of Psychology services
Ensure Agency compliance with Departmental regulations governing Behavioral Modification and Restraint,including the monitoring of Restraint Report process. Perform all duties in conformance with and recognition of existing Agency philosophy, policies and procedures, and funding source regulations.
