Provide education/information and support to patients and families concerning tests and specimen acquisition. Assist in special projects, evaluations, experiments or research. Customer Service - Act as patient advocate and meet patient/family needs. Provide information concerning patients admitted to, referred to/from, transferred to/from, or discharged from home unit. Provide emotional support to patients/families as needed. Utilize a customer focus in completing assignments, communicate in a courteous and conscientious manner. Promptly attend to requests and concerns. Collaboration - Work cooperatively with others to achieve goals. Proactively adjust one's style, efforts to complement those of others. Develop positive working relationships, interact in a respectful, professional manner. Share knowledge and/or provide support for team members. Contribute to and promote a positive and professional work environment/atmosphere. Professional Development - Maintain currency in the field through continuing education, conferences, meetings, in-services, networking, literature, and/or seminars. Attend all mandatory CCHMC training sessions. Implement obtained knowledge/skills into one's own work, the department, and/or the organization. Assume responsibility for one's own professional growth and development. May participate in internal/external professional committees, agencies, councils, and/or activities. Compliance - Understand and comply with applicable policies, guidelines, regulations, and/or accreditation standards. Document compliance as necessary. Maintain compliance with CCHMC Core Standards and code of ethics. May be responsible for ensuring that work areas are organized and present a safe, accessible, effective, and/or efficient environment for employees, patients, and/or families. To primarily provide phlebotomy and other lab sample collection in addition to other laboratory support functions in the Clinical Laboratory department of a Medical Center dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents. JOB QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent 2 years of Phlebotomy or other relevant Clinical Lab specimen collection experience OR completion of a Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program Preferred: Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification Market Leading Benefits Including*: Medical coverage starting day 1 of employment.
