We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Intern to join our Accounting Department. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about financial operations in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on accounts payable processes. The selected candidate will gain valuable experience working alongside our accounting team, supporting day-to-day financial operations and ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and cross-reference between different platforms
- Familiarity with or the proactive ability to learn and work with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar) is essential
- Apply for business licenses and pay business tax accounts in various states
- Assist in the processing and verification of invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests
- Ensure proper coding and entry of invoices and receipts into the accounting system
- Maintain and update vendor records and payment schedules
- Support month-end closing procedures by reconciling accounts payable reports
- Prepare documentation for audits and assist with resolving discrepancies
- Collaborate with the accounting team on special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Current student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
