Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct health services to students, including first aid, medication administration, and health monitoring under the supervision of a school nurse.
- Assist students with personal care tasks, including hygiene, toileting, feeding, and mobility support, as needed.
- Support students with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, or epilepsy by following individualized health plans.
- Monitor and document student health concerns, maintain accurate records, and report observations to the school nurse.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate assistance while following school health protocols.
- Assist with health screenings, immunization compliance, and other preventive health initiatives.
- Educate students and staff on basic health and hygiene practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized health office and ensure medical supplies are stocked.
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and school administrators regarding student health needs and concerns.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Oregon.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience working with children, preferably in a school, pediatric, or healthcare setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to work in a diverse school environment.
- Experience with students who have special healthcare needs or disabilities.
- Knowledge of school health procedures and policies.
- Experience using electronic health records for documentation.
