What you will be doing:
- Provide technical coordination and support in the operating and capital expense management processes by initiating and running projects using the capital expense (CAPEX) project, equipment monitoring, stabilization, and improvements.
- Responsible for detailed engineering work in the areas of instrumentation, PLC, power distribution, and equipment integration which includes electrical design, power distribution design, and automation system design.
- Provide Technical Support for Operations working closely with leaders on Operational Improvements.
- Trouble Shooting of Existing Equipment and Processes.
- Develop and refine engineering procedures.
- Process sample and data collection and interpretation.
- Benchmark other Gerdau Mills bringing back Best practices
- Implement new technology.
- Train and develop technical operations
- Conduct Technical Studies to support CAPEX investments.
- Support process improvement projects where applicable.
- Participate in the development of Annual Action Plans.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in: Electrical Engineering
- 5-8 Years of Industrial, Hands-On Experience planning and installing electrical equipment and automation controls.
- ISA Certified Automation Professional Certification (Preferred)
- Demonstrated project management experience which includes planning, budgeting, design, execution, scheduling, procurement, installation and start up of electrical controls equipment and instrumentation.
- Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing the performance of electrical control systems on production machines and equipment.
- Knowledgeable in Industrial Safety and Construction Methods.
- Demonstrated advanced skills in all Microsoft software such as Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. and advanced drawing skills with Auto-Cad.
- Knowledge of equipment, machine design standards and specifications and machine safety design, including ANSI, ASTM, FM, NFPA, and IEC.
- Knowledge of NFPA-70 and NFPA-70E.
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements and standards.
- Knowledge of database systems for process control applications.
- Installation and strong programming capability with Rockwell Automation PLC systems.
- Working knowledge of automation communication systems.
- Installation set up and troubleshooting abilities with AC and DC drives and motors.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
