Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students’ motor skills and physical abilities to determine eligibility and need for therapy services.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve students’ functional mobility, strength, coordination, and independence.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other school professionals to integrate therapeutic activities into the classroom and daily routines.
- Provide direct therapy services, including exercises, adaptive equipment recommendations, and mobility training.
- Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Educate school staff and parents on strategies to support students' physical development.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations, including IEP goals and therapy documentation requirements.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing input on student progress and necessary accommodations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, and session notes.
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid New Jersey state license as a Physical Therapist.
- School-based or pediatric experience preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of IDEA and IEP development processes.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
