Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Student Support:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Provide differentiated instruction in alignment with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
- Utilize research-based strategies to support students with diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Implement effective behavior management and social-emotional learning strategies.
- Work closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and related service providers to support student success.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions.
- Conduct assessments to determine student learning needs and progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and accommodations.
- Regularly review and adjust instructional strategies based on data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality and advocate for students with disabilities.
- Stay current with best practices in special education through ongoing professional development.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Licensure: Massachusetts DESE Certification in Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8) required.
- Experience: Prior experience working with elementary students in a special education setting preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of inclusive practices, assistive technology, and IEP development.
- Experience with co-teaching and inclusion models.
- Familiarity with Response to Intervention (RTI) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
- Training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and social-emotional learning frameworks.
- Full-time position following the school calendar.
- Based in an elementary school.
