What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiology Technician- PRN position at Coal County General Hospital?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Radiology Technician is responsible for performing radiographic procedures at a technical level. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment to apply ionizing radiations for radiographic diagnosis. Is also responsible for performing CT scans and is required to rotate call schedule with other personnel in the department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Must be able to position and transfer patient safely, utilizing proper equipment to facilitate patient transfer while adhering to the minimal lift policy.
- Performs radiographic procedures in X-Ray and CT at a technical level.
- Perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment to apply ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis.
- Must be able to select proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
- Must be able to develop film by automatic processing if necessary.
- Maintains all records in the department.
- Must know or learn to operate the CR system.
- Must be able to digitize and find reports if necessary.
- Responds to call-back in a timely manner.
- Performs any other duty as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree is preferred, but not required.
- One (1) year of radiologic/imaging experience.
- State of Oklahoma permits trained individuals to perform diagnostic CT exams with documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams.
- Prefer specific experience and training in CT.
- Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
- Possesses a high level of knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
- Proficiency with most major CT equipment manufacturer's hardware and software (GE, Siemens, Picker).
