Coal Creek Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Center
We are offering a wonderful opportunity to begin at the ground floor (with opportunity for growth) in an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice. Our dynamic office is looking for a positive, energetic, and self-motivated individual to help assist the doctor with serving the community and surrounding areas with the highest quality and standards of patient care and comfort.
Primary responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining a neat, organized, and well documented sterilization department.
Scope
1.Operates and monitors sterilization equipment.
2. Disassembles carts and follows Universal Precautions for decontamination.
3. Sterilizes, disinfects durable medical equipment and instruments, packages clean supplies and instruments, maintains records for all instruments and transports sterilized items to the floor.
4. Assembles sterilized instruments and rechecks all instruments for cleanliness and/or impairment. Properly checks power equipment.
5. Takes measures to allow for easy instrument tracking including following labeling processes, reporting and documenting all missing instruments and implants replaced in trays.
6. Communicates the equipment and instrument inventory
7. Responds to emergency situations by ensuring all emergency, trauma and add-on cases are supplied properly and delivered to the Operating Room in a timely manner.
8. Utilizes applications and technology to accurately facilitate record keeping in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
9. Provides on the job training on the job training (OJT) to newly hired associates in the department.
10. Promotes mission, vision, and values and abides by service behavior standards.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
12. May be required to work over normal hours assigned
- You will demonstrate knowledge related to maintenance, cleanliness, and sterilization of instruments and equipment
- You will maintain a sanitary environment for the provision of patient care
- You will demonstrates awareness of appropriate sterilization methods needed for different instruments in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions
- You will maintain a daily log, testing for efficacy of disinfecting solution with each cycle and perform biological testing
- You will monitor and record all test loads and sterilization cycles while documenting any deviation from normal functioning to Lead Assistant and/or Manager
- You will maintain an accurate log for equipment out for repair
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Dental assisting experience desired
- Will Train
Hours:
- Full-Time 20-25 hours per week. Mo, Tu, Th 7:15 am to 12:15 pm and Fr 6:15-2:15.
