POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Business Office Assistant (BOA) will be responsible for assisting with the supervision, coordination, and the overall management of patient billing and collection. The Business Office Assistant will be directly responsible for transporting patients to and from appoints which include, DMV, SSA, various banks as well as other clinical appointments when assigned.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Office Assistant (BOA) assists the Business Office Manager (BOM) in all business office functions related to Coalinga Regional Medical Centers D/P SNF as well as all other tasks assigned directly by the Administrator, CEO and Assistant Administrator.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for assisting with all financial accounting and reporting, procedures and internalcontrols of the department
- Assisting with collection and reviews of financial statements on a monthly basis
- Assisting with timely billing and collection of Medicare, Medicaid and Insurance claims.
- Assisting with patient transportation when required for patient appointments, both clinical and non-clinical as approved by the Administrator and Assistant Administrator.
- Dispense resident trust funds as requested from residents and obtain proper signatures for withdrawn funds under the supervision of the BOM.
- Deposit and post all receipts into the resident trust fund on a daily basis under the supervision of the BOM.
- Assist with the process to provide each resident/responsible party with a quarterly accounting of his/her fundsmanaged by the facility.
- Assist with the process of reconciling and replenishing resident trust petty cash as often as needed under the supervision of the DOM.
- Assist with maintaining all signed withdrawal forms in an individual file for each resident.
- Review balances every month with the Administrator/CEO and/or Assistant Administrator as requested and required.
- All other duties as assigned by the Administrator/CEO and/or Assistant Administrator
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
The Business Office Representative must have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Class C Driver’s License
- Be able to demonstrate excellent time management skills
- Must possess excellent computer and communication skills and the ability to interact with people in all levels of the organization.
- Preferred, 2 years of experience in a business office setting and 1 year in a healthcare setting.
