POPULATION SERVED
The position involves direct patient care for a population of patients between the ages of
18 and older. Age specific experience and/or special training and/or expertise is required
to serve this population.
POSITION SUMMARY
Using discretion and independent judgment, the Director of Rehabilitation plans,
organizes, develops, administers, directs, and supervises Physical Therapy services in
accordance with current Title 22, applicable federal, state, and local standards,
regulations, and guidelines to ensure the highest degree of quality care is rendered at all
times. Working department director who supervises Physical Therapy, Occupational
Therapy, and Speech Therapy services. Provide services for inpatients, outpatients, and
special contracts. Responsible for correct policies and procedures in the Rehab services
department, compliance in patient billing and insurance, quality assurance, and patient
progress charting in a timely manner. Does budgeting and monitoring of utilization of
personnel and supplies. Effective supervisory skills are needed, along with good
communication skills for departmental and interdepartmental relationships. The individual
in this position must have initiative, be innovative, possess a sense of responsibility,
integrity and sound judgment; follow standards of proper conduct, and abide by Central
Valley Specialty Hospital's policies & procedures, and standards of care. this position does
provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients, including comprehensive
assessment, individual and group treatment, and supervision of treatment delivered by
Physical Therapy Assistants, Physical Therapy support staff, Occupational Therapist,
COT As, and Speech Therapist. The Director of Rehabilitation contributes to program
development, quality improvement, program assessment, and departmental policy and
procedure development.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires successful completion of a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy.
Must possess current CA State licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of which he
or she will practice. This position requires the ability to function independently, have
flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with patients, personnel, and
outside agencies. Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, and
emotionally upset. Some supervisory experience preferred. CPR/BLS certification upon
hire.
JOB DUTIES
• Supervises and performs Physical Therapy treatments using safe and proper
techniques.
• Establishes and updates policies and procedures.
• Ensures proper patient billing, keeping current with insurance and Medicare
rules and regulations.
• Supervises and performs daily charting, certifications, and quality assurance.
• Establishes budget and monitors utilization of staff according to patient load.
• Responsible for proper maintenance of department equipment.
• Assists with the hiring of new employees and is responsible for their orientation.
• Establishes body mechanics-lifting classes for CVSH staff and work site
analysis.
• Supervises speech and occupational therapy services.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned
Salary : $135,000 - $160,000
