About the role
- The individual will be employed by the CCO to serve students at Shippensburg University.
- This is a full-time position (40 hours weekly).
- This position includes health, dental and vision benefits
- This position includes paid vacation, sick and holiday
- This position does require self-support fundraising to cover a portion of the salary
The University Community Ministry Board (UCMB) has given opportunities to CCO staff to reach students at Shippensburg University for over twelve years. The CCO ministry at Shippensburg University has a storied history and continues to be a location that offers plenty of outreach opportunities, community members interested in serving the campus, and the potential of a growing team of CCO staff serving together to proclaim God's Kingdom. The UnComMin Board currently supports one veteran staff person already serving on campus.
The UCMB is composed of adults in the Shippensburg community longing to see college students receive the Gospel. The staff person filling this position would be required to give monthly updates to the Board as well as occasional updates to local supporting churches. The ministry of this staff person will be aimed to develop a presence of the CCO on campus that trains and equips student leaders to share the Gospel with others and disciple others as well as partnering with the local church community in these efforts.
Purpose of the position:
- Catalyze Kingdom transformation at Shippensburg University by sharing the Gospel, inviting students into the life of the local church, and mobilizing the Christian community and churches to engage in ministry on campus. You will develop deep collaboration between church/community members and students that promotes strong biblical discipleship, life long commitment to the Church, and the flourishing of Christ’s kingdom in their local context and all areas of life.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree Required.
- Experience: 1-3 years ministry experience preffered
Job Description:
- Campus Engagement: Plan and facilitate gatherings of students on campus throughout the week that include prayer, teaching, evangelism, leadership development, and applying Scriptures to life in college and beyond.
- Church Integration: Connect students into discipleship opportunities and relationships within the church body.
- Leadership Development: Disciple and mobilize leaders among students at the local campus and the local church to faithfully live out their faith in service and evangelism.
