About the role
- The individual will be employed by the CCO.
- This position is based out of the CCO home office in Pittsburgh, with the ability for a hybrid remote schedule - splitting time between the office and home.
- This is a full-time position (40 hours weekly)
- This position provides health, dental, and vision benefits for the employee.
- This position includes vacation, sick, and paid holidays.
- This position will involve self-support fundraising to cover a portion of the salary.
Join CCO's Events Department and be an integral part to all events happening across the organization from Jubilee to the annual fundraising event. We are looking for someone highly organized and detail-oriented that can manage multiple projects at once. You will work directly with venues to set up events, web based programs to handle registrations and scholarships, order merchandise and printed material to market events to students.
Purpose of the position:
- The Events Coordinator reports to the National Director of Strategic Events, working directly with the Events team to plan, organize, and execute events that align with the mission and vision of the CCO, including donor gatherings, staff and student conferences, and alumni reunions. This role serves to enhance relationships with donors, staff, students, and alumni by creating meaningful and engaging experiences that foster community, strengthen connections, and inspire ongoing support. This position ensures that all events reflect the ministry's values, effectively communicate its impact, and provide opportunities for engagement and support. The Events Coordinator plays a vital role in promoting a culture of hospitality and gratitude, ensuring all attendees feel valued and connected to the mission of the organization.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree required; Marketing, Business Administration, Event Planning, or Communications preferred; Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) preferred.
- Experience: 3-4 years experience in event management or project management.
Job Description:
Donor Event Planning, Execution, and Logistics
- Plan and execute donor-focused events as directed by the National Director of Strategic Events to engage donors, staff, student, and alumni while reflecting the organization’s mission and values.
- Coordinate all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, catering, audio/visual needs, and transportation.
Staff and Student Events - Jubilee Project Management
- Manage Jubilee event registration software, generate reports, and communicate with staff on registration details.
- Manage communications, marketing, and recruitment efforts to expand the Jubilee exhibit hall and sponsorship program. Cultivate and strengthen relationships with sponsors, ensuring their sponsorship deliverables are met and expectations exceeded. Provide exceptional service and hospitality to sponsors before, during, and after the event.
Alumni Engagement
- Develop and implement strategies to engage alumni in the CCO’s mission through reunions, networking events, and virtual gatherings.
- Assist with and oversee Alumni Network events and activities as assigned or needed.
Budget and Reporting
- Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness, alignment with financial goals, and compliance with organizational policies.
- Provide post-event evaluations and recommendations for continuous improvement.
