Description
The Charitable Giving Advisor assists the Stewardship department in raising revenue through philanthropic giving, major gifts, grants, and monthly gifts by advising supporters on philanthropic opportunities, tax implications, and strategic planning to maximize the impact of their donations to the Organization.
The essential functions include but are not limited to:
- Pray daily for the mission of Coalition Life
- Assist in raising funds to meet or surpass fundraising targets
- Research active and potential donors
- Maintain complete and orderly records of donor activity
- Schedule donor meetings for the Executive Director and perform follow-up tasks
- Advise supporters on philanthropic opportunities, tax implications, and strategic planning to maximize the impact of their donations to the Organization.
- Build and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals, families, and corporate donors
- Research and submit for grant funding
- Coordinate with legal, tax, and financial advisors to integrate charitable giving into clients' overall financial plans.
- Build upon existing donor relationships and form new donor relationships on a regular basis.
- Ensure gift acknowledgment processes remain relevant and are fulfilled.
- Advise on the best ways to honor and recognize donor giving on an annual basis
- Address donor questions and concerns
- Identify and collaborate on development of digital and print communication opportunities to connect with donors.
- Occasional night and weekend work is required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5 years of experience in direct and varied areas of stewardship, development or alumni relations, preferably in a non-profit setting.
- Proactive, able to prioritize work to maximize department resources.
- Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Contribute ideas and process improvements using available resources.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to develop and maintain solid and effective working relationships with internal and external constituents.
