JOB DESCRIPTION :
The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for executing custom projects at a high level by directly contributing to project design and commissioning, while leading and tasking junior Engineers to various project tasks that lead to efficient project completion, and general team growth. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be a key member of an Engineering team with the responsibilities of designing, installing, and commissioning various industrial electrical systems. Systems to include power substation & distribution system design, Arc Flash & Coordination study analysis, backup power systems such as Generators with paralleling and synchronization capabilities, custom electrical equipment design & commissioning, transformer maintenance management, complex drive and power conversion applications, and general project management for heavy industrial projects. The position requires hands-on shop and field support to work both independently and within a team to lead and mentor various Coalmont Engineers and technicians to successfully complete projects based on sound engineering practices, customer specifications, and expectations. This position is an opportunity to be exposed to an extremely diverse set of applications, technologies, and processes, with the expectation to grow into a leadership and mentoring position with increased responsibilities and support.

PREFERRED DEMONSTRATED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS :
Can demonstrate an understanding of 3-phase power systems, transformers, grounding, surge protection and NEC / NFPA code principles.
An ability to communicate clearly and demonstrates an ability to provide instruction to peers and subordinates.
An understanding of various installation processes that relate to industrial electrical construction. Experience with system and equipment checkout procedures and the motivation to provide consistent results that are free from errors and are installed as a durable product.
Can demonstrate an understanding of drive design, control algorithms and regulators.
CAD : AutoCAD Electrical
Power Modeling : ETAP, EZPower, SKM
NFPA, UL and others
Experience with the design, troubleshooting, and respective code requirements of various industrial control and safety systems.
Understanding of proper control panel design, product selection, SCCR calculations, testing and installation practices.
Understanding of various industrial IEEE, Ethernet / IP and Profinet network designs and respective product selection.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS :
The McCalla, AL facility is conveniently located just outside of Birmingham with a typical short, low traffic commute down either I-20 / 59 or I-459.
