Pay Rate: $24.00 hr.
40 Hours: Monday through Friday daytime hours.
This is a non-exempt position that requires some flexibility with hours based on program needs and may require some evenings or weekends.
General Purpose of Job:
Perform all tasks assigned to the maintain COARC's fleet of vehicles to ensure the transportation and COARC's staff can meet the needs of the people that COARC serves.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure COARC's vehicles are safe and in proper working order, notifying a supervisor of any items needing repair or attention.
- Work safely at all times. Perform all duties in a manner that is productive, positive, cooperative, flexible, and promotes the goals of the department and agency.
- Perform routine inspection, diagnosing, maintenance, repairs, modifications, or upgrades as directed on any COARC's fleet of vehicles. Must show the aptitude and competence to work on both gas and diesel equipment, as well as brake system, hydraulics, A/C systems, electrical & lighting systems. Preforms repairs at main bus garage and well as off-site location as needed. Perform road tests on all vehicles to ensure equipment is in safe working order.
- Maintain records as directed to document time, work activities, materials, parts, tools, and equipment.
- Make service calls for disabled equipment as needed.
- Perform housekeeping duties as necessary to keep all work locations safe and productive.
- Participate in in-house and outside trainings as required or deemed necessary by the department supervisor.
- Work with supported/ sheltered employees as directed.
- Have a valid driver's license.
The requirements of this position
- Valid Driver's license
- Experience working on both gas and diesel vehicles preferred.
- Ability to be certified in all required trainings.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
- High school diploma or General Education Degree preferred.
