Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, build and assemble complete tooling, assembly jigs and fixtures for aerospace parts and assemblies.
- Work from tool design drawings, complex engineering blueprints (part and assembly blueprints), sketches, sample parts, and other reference data as may be provided.
Skills Requirements:
- Minimum 5 yrs. experience as Jig and Fixture Builder in the aerospace industry with a general knowledge of machine shop practices and procedures preferred.
- Must be able to read and interpret complex tool design and engineering blueprints.
- Should be able to operate optical instruments.
- Must possess good basic math, mechanical skills and good communications skills (verbal and written).
- Must be able to use machinists hand tools, precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, height and surface gauges, verniers, calipers, templates, transits, sight levels, dial indicators, etc. Working knowledge in the use of master tooling a plus. Tools of the trade required.
- Experience with setting up and operating Leica laser tracker with Verisurf Software to set and verify assembly jig and fixture details is a plus.
- Experience in rivet installation.
- great attention to detail is a must.
