Description:
The Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day activities and implement long-term strategies ensuring the Maine manufacturing location is performing efficiently, effectively, and meeting all quantity, quality, and safety requirements.
- Establishes and assures quantitative and qualitative operating metrics, guidelines, and efficiency standards are met.
- Oversee production schedules and requirements, ensuring production, inventory and shipment policies and procedures are adhered to and targets are achieved.
- Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to employees; when implementing changes strives to detail changes, answer questions, and maintain morale.
- Collaborates with planning and purchasing department to verify, review, maintain, and report on material and production inventories and plans.
- Coordinates integration of efforts among operations, product development, quality, and customer service to ensure smooth workflow and cost-effective processes.
- Facilitates and authorizes repairs or maintenance for production machinery, equipment and vehicles.
- Identifies and recommends continuous improvement initiatives, preventative maintenance, cost controls and other improvements to the day-to-day and long-term inventory, production and shipping processes.
- Reviews, analyzes, evaluates and updates (as needed) operation procedures (PM, BMPs and SOPs).
- Facilitates a welcoming environment and ensures work conditions and procedures are suitable and safe.
- Maintains a positive approach and image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.
- Participates in the hiring and training of onsite employees.
- Organizes and oversees work, production and shipping schedules.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Works with HR to manage employee support, morale and relationship situations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- 10 years of production experience in a related field including 5 years in a leadership role, bachelor’s degree with additional technical training preferred.
- Attention to detail, results oriented focus and excellent decision making and organizational skills with the ability to manage teams, production objectives and multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A can-do attitude with an entrepreneurial approach to planning, problem solving, prioritization and operations oversight.
- Effective interpersonal skills with a broader company-oriented focus and the ability to successfully communicate with production team, cross functional partners and outside vendors.
- Team and goal-oriented approach that optimizes output and employee growth while respecting the inherent worth of production teams, partners and other coworkers.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet production and shipping goals and deadlines.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software with an ability to analyze data via Excel.
