We are a very busy automotive repair shop in Pascagoula, MS. We provide high-quality repair services with unmatched customer service as an alternative to the dealership. We provide a robust warranty program and have a large customer base from being in business for over 45 years.

We are looking for an experienced Service Writer/Advisor Manager who can sell service and repair. We are a hard-working fast-paced team that is looking for someone that is honest, positive, dedicated, well groomed, has great customer service and is ready to be part of a fantastic team.

Job Description: Service Advisor/Writer Manager

Reports to:​ General Manager
Hours: ​Full-Time

Purpose & Objective:

The Service Advisor/Writer Manager role is critical to the overall success of the business. They are the keeper of values, the maintainer of the standards, and the leader whom everyone in the shop follows. The person who fills this role will not only lead and manage all aspects of the shop's daily workflow, but they will also sell repairs to clients as needed to help the shop reach its sales goals.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

​Be the leader of the shop’s staff and help them to meet the objectives & sales targets set forth by the company. Enforce and maintain the company's values, policies, and systems. Provide coaching for employees who aren’t meeting standards or expectations.

Mentor Employees ​Be the leader of the shop’s staff and help them to meet the objectives & sales targets set forth by the company. Enforce and maintain the company's values, policies, and systems. Provide coaching for employees who aren’t meeting standards or expectations.

Manage Shop Workflow While maintaining quality standards, maintain a balanced/efficient workflow using the company's systems such as the “workflow-board”, shop management software, and internal best practices. Manage tech workload by monitoring and dispatching work based off tech capabilities and customer priority to achieve the best possible results.

Sales ​Sell repairs and service to clients using company guidelines and best practices.

Manage Costs​ Ensure that costs are kept under control by staff in all areas of the shop and find ways to reduce costs while maintaining the customer service and quality standards of the company by utilizing shop management software and KPI dashboards.

Customer Service​ Handle all customer service complaints and other customer service issues. This may include confronting and assisting frustrated customers. Prevent customer service issues whenever possible by monitoring/ensuring that all the verbal and written commitments/contracts made by staff are being honored. Provide coaching to staff regarding how to give better customer service based on observations made and/or feedback from clients.

Manage Expectations Audit customer phone calls and daily expectation sheets to help drive continuous growth in delivering world-class customer service. Manage shop throughput and audit technician billed hours daily to ensure delivery of expectations.

Other Tasks ​Allow no job to be too small or beneath oneself. Fill in on tasks as needed to maintain the flow of the shop. Examples could be running a shuttle, selling tickets, checking out customers, cleaning the bathroom, picking up a part, or any other task that can be safely completed which is needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Management Experience ​Must have at least 2 years’ experience in service writing or a shop management position.

Sales Experience ​Must have at least 5 years’ experience in any sales role or demonstrate an ability to sell.

Organizational & Focus Skills​ Must be able to work and complete work tasks in a timely fashion in an environment that has constant distractions and interruptions, as well as maintain prioritization and organize tasks to maintain efficiency.

Computer Knowledge & Ability Must possess a working knowledge of how to use Windows based programs on a computer. This includes the ability to type or dictate at least 30 words per minute, operate a cursor, view a computer monitor, operate an email account, and use common computer software such as Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets.

KPI & Performance Tracking Must possess detailed understanding and management ability of general automotive KPI’s such as tracking gross sales, gross profit, billed hours, close ratios, and car count.

Communication Skills ​Must be able to communicate in English fluently, both in verbal and in written form.

Math Skills​ Must possess the ability to perform basic math functions using a calculator.

Physical Demands

o Must be able to get into and out of various vehicles without assistance.

o Must be able to drive a motor vehicle with passengers.
