Essential Functions:
Under the general supervision of the AR Specialist II, the Cash Receipts Clerk is responsible for assisting students and staff at the Cashier’s window, on the telephone, and via email. This position will process student payments, department (non-student) deposits, and scholarship checks. The Cashier will also assist in the review and update of the processes and procedures for the Cashier’s Office.
Required Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive and apply cash, check, & credit card payments for tuition, fees, bookstore charges, all miscellaneous and student activity payments, and third-party sponsor payments, as well as process all general receipts college wide. Post electronic and payment plan payments.
- Ensure accuracy in student accounts receivables relating to financial aid, registration & billing, de-registration procedures, sponsor & third-party billings, and adjustments related to system errors, exceptions, & waivers.
- Participate in the reconciliation of daily cash transactions and reports.
Balance cash drawer(s), vault, and cashier working fund accounts daily; endorse checks for daily deposit.
- Maintains proper records of accounts and prepares reports of transactions on each account. Keeps receipts filed, in order, for audit reports.
- Balances cash/checks and prepares daily deposits. Gives sponsors in charge of various accounts copies of the deposit’s receipts.
- Ensures monies are secure and locked in the vault each day. Counts and sells sporting and special events tickets.
- Prepares end-of-year storage of receipts.
- Answers telephones and callers' questions or directs callers to appropriate individual or department.
- Inputs or voids receipts, and reprints summary reports and closeout reports for balancing cash and checks.
- Assist in preparation and distribution of 1098-t student tax forms.
- Performs other such tasks that may be assigned by the Business Office
Travel Requirements:
Occasional college-wide travel to multiple campuses as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school graduation. One year of training in accounting or bookkeeping and two years of experience involving cashiering responsibilities; or equivalent university course work with an accounting major; or three years of experience involving cashiering responsibilities.

Education Degree Equals Associate's
Details Equals Associate degree in accounting or business-related field.
