Caseworker (Full-Time)

The Coastal Bend CSCD is accepting applications for the position of Caseworker to be located in Sinton, Texas. ELEGIBILITY: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (preferably some college). Cannot be employed as a peace officer or work as a reserve or volunteer peace officer. Cannot currently be on community supervision, parole, or serving a criminal sentence. PRIMARY JOB REQUIREMENTS/DUTIES: Provide assistance with indirect and direct caseloads (timely chronicle case information; investigative work; file related documents, case file forms, prepare/mail letters, transfer cases to other jurisdictions, MTR/MTAG prep, and other relevant tasks). Monitor a pretrial services bond caseload (primarily DWI cases) including oversight of Ignition Interlock devices (IID) which includes: verifying installation; input the IID logs; daily review of IID reports for violations/compliance; and enter new cases. Complete affidavits (attorney appointments) and Court Settings within 3 business days. Interview defendants in jail and review/document jail correspondence. General reception activities (front desk). Demonstrate good listening, writing, time management and analytical skills. Have the ability to work well as an integral part of the CSCD team of professionals. Be willing and able to work flexible hours. Have the ability to work independently and efficiently. Adhere to TDCJ-CJAD Code of Ethics. Complete other requirements/duties as directed. Complete other requirements/duties as assigned by the Business Manager, PreTrial Services Unit Supervisor, and/or the Director. SALARY: Up to $40,000 per year depending on experience. This is a 40 hour work week (four days 8a-5p and one day 10am-7pm). Potential 3% annual (one-time) merit pay after one (1) year of employment.
