Job Title: Operational Support Worker
Classification: Full Time/ Non-Exempt
Salary: $17.00 to $18.00/Hour
Reports to: Office Manager
SUMMARY: is a multifaceted position, that will work across departments to provide needed services to the operations of the agency, to include building maintenance, food pantry coordination, and delivery services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIES:
Building Maintenance
- Checking and responding to security and safety issues
- Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
- Responsible for set up and breakdown of resource rooms events (Community rooms, PRIDE Center, Boardroom etc.)
- Performing preventative maintenance on air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems.
- Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills handling basic repairs and fixing maintenance issues.
- Identifying problems that will require a professional for repair.
- Keeping and maintaining walls by repairing minor drywall issues and paint touch up.
- Putting together furniture purchases and moving furniture, office items, as needed.
- Assist with daily maintenance and cleaning for all company vehicles and especially assures delivery vehicle is properly maintained.
- Coordinating deliveries from vendors and suppliers
- Assist with daily maintenance and cleaning for all company vehicles and especially assures delivery vehicle is properly maintained.
- Maintain OSHA/MSDS sheets pertinent to CBWF operations.
Food Pantry
- Coordinate food pantry ordering and delivery from the Coastal Bend Food Bank and other area retailers.
- Maintain current Food Handlers Permit within specified time frame following hire.
- Maintain all OSHA/MSDS sheets pertinent to the operation of the Pantry and infection control systems.
- Maintain all records needed for operation of the CBWF Food Pantry.
- Keep Food Pantry orderly and clean.
Delivery
- Deliver medications, food, and other items to patients.
- Coordinate most efficient route when making multiple deliveries.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven maintenance experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
- Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
- Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
- Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills and wrenches.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Eye for detail
- Ability to maintain focus while working individually.
- Strong time management skills.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Having knowledge of safety measures
- Physical strength and dexterity to lift, move and handle equipment.
- Having high attention to detail
- Being able to prepare estimates of time.
- Having knowledge of maintenance practices and repair methods.
- Being able to provide supervision when needed.
- Having good communication skills.
- Being able to follow written and oral instructions.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Monday-Friday, with average times being 8:00-5:00pm; 40 hours per week, however schedule may vary based on agency needs.
- Some evening and weekend activities may require flexing schedule.
- Amount of travel required is up to 40%.
- Tasks occur both inside and outside facility.
- Ability to lift up to 75lbs or more and perform normal duties with lifting boxes, driving, and delivering supplies.
