This position facilitates communication between College personnel and hearing-impaired students in order to support reasonable accommodations for successful student engagement within a post-secondary educational environment. Salary: $55.00 per hourStart Date: March 6, 2025.Closing Date: Open until filled. Standard working hours: To be determined. Based on documented accommodation needs (not to exceed 25 hours per week).
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Required: (1) A minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent); (2) proficient communication skills necessary for interpreting within a post-secondary educational environment; and (3) possess full or provisional Education Interpreters Performance Assessment (EIPA) licensure with a score of Level III or higher. Preferred: Licensure in one (or more) of the following credential areas: (1) Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf; (2) National Association for the Deaf; and/or (3) North Carolina Interpreter Classification System.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Official transcripts, including other documentation verifying all reported educational qualifications, are required. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted for application purposes. The successful candidate must provide official transcripts at his or her expense within thirty (30) days of being notified of selection.
