Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to join our team at Coastal Carolina Health Care, P.A. This role is essential in supporting our mission by ensuring accurate specimen collection and processing, ultimately contributing to the health and well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities
- Injections (testosterone, prolia, ppd, allergy shots, shingles, flu, covid, prevnar)
- Troubleshooting / Calibration (every 6 month) of CBC machine per COLA standards
- End of month paperwork
- Ordering vaccines and supplies for the lab
- Ordering supplies from Labcorp
- Quality control on all machines daily and monthly
- Running CBC, A1C, stat Glucose
- Running Urinalysis and completing Urine Cultures
- Running rapid flu and strep test
- Managing patients who are on Warfarin ( INR )
- Training new hire if ever necessary
- API –Proficiencies of random test; testing samples to insure they are being ran properly
- Use of EPIC and Harvest
- Processing labs from Grantsbrook (nursing home)
- Running the centrifuge and processing all blood to be sent to central lab or Labcorp daily
- Knowledge of lab tests and tubes
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
- Documentation of injections and clinic administered medications
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Laboratory Technician or similar role in a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory information management systems.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with medical staff.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and laboratory management practices is preferred.
- Certification in phlebotomy or related field is a plus.
