What are the responsibilities and job description for the Swimming Pool Technician position at Coastal Carolina Supply?
A successful Pool Service Technician is a hardworking, reliable employee that provides service and maintenance for our customers’ swimming pools. A pool service technician’s duties will include, but not limited to, driving to assigned facilities, vacuuming pools, emptying skimmer baskets, blowing off decks, rearranging furniture, cleaning/stocking bathrooms, testing the chlorine/pH of the pool water, adding/adjusting chemicals, and repairing minor issues (ie: replacing fittings, repairing small leaks and faulty equipment).
Candidates should have excellent knowledge of swimming pool equipment/maintenance, be able to work safely with hazardous chemicals, and interact with clients in a friendly and professional manner.
As a service technician you will also be required to communicate with your direct supervisor(s) on a daily basis, taking instruction, providing feedback, and asking questions.
Pool Service Technician Responsibilities:
- Maintaining pool equipment and chemical stock levels in the chemical room.
- Background in repairing/replacing pool pumps and associated pool plumbing
- Testing swimming pool water pH, and chlorine levels.
- Adding pool acid, chlorine, and other chemicals to balance pool water.
- Vacuuming, brushing, and skimming the swimming pool.
- Troubleshooting faulty pool cleaning equipment.
- Completing paperwork and reporting service requirements to management.
- Reporting all issues and need for repairs to the direct supervisor.
Pool Service Technician Requirements:
- High school diploma.
- Valid NC Driver’s License and vehicle with valid personal car insurance.
- Previous experience as a pool technician; preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of proper pool cleaning and maintenance methods (training available).
- Extensive knowledge of swimming pool chemistry (training available).
- Ability to work with the maintenance department for repairs.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment.
- Ability to work in harsh weather conditions.
- Professional appearance.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
