YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Summary:
This position manages and participates in all aspects of supply chain including inventory control, bulk, packaged goods, commodity components and supplies related to the operation. Under the guidance of the Senior Manager Supply Chain, this role is responsible for executing purchasing activities while staying in compliance with departmental objectives and goals.
This position reports directly to the Senior Manager Supply Chain and is responsible for meeting the goals established. This position is expected to operate and promote the core values, that include safety, product integrity and customer satisfaction.
Job Description:
- Manage and develop a team consisting of Buyers and Transfer Coordinators
- Ensure that buyers are purchasing product in a timely manner within reasonable and acceptable inventory quantities
- Provide training and guidance to the team
- Develop existing and new relationships with vendors and carriers to drive better service and cost
- Coordinate price changes with sales and revenue management
- Assist the team and participate in negotiating best vendor terms, pricing, and lead times based on specific budgetary and scheduling requirements
- Work closely with team members and key suppliers to support a strong supply chain
- Ensure that all team members are adhering to company policies and procurement & inventory procedures
- Prepare and/or review purchase requisitions/orders as needed (MRO)
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, order variances and perform inventory reconciliations timely and accurately
- Review dead/slow moving and overstock inventory bi weekly and establish action plans
- Maintain and support inventory goals including working capital and inventory turns
- Responsible for all inventory related items including physical inventory counts and month end inventory reports
- Assist in developing and implementing department KPI’s
- Work collaboratively with other departments including safety, operations, quality, sales, customer service, and accounting
- Support department with other duties & assignments as needed
YOUR PROFILE
Education and Experience:
- Critical and analytical thinking skills.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Problem solving skills including addressing problems as they arise and anticipating problems before they happen.
- Organizational and multi-tasking skills including the ability to prioritize departmental workflows and job specific duties.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment where a high level of pressure is present
- Leadership skills and creating a positive team environment
- Ability to solve complex problems and present solutions to upper management
