Interior/Exterior Building Cleaner

We are looking for 1-2 Professional Cleaners to add to our team to carry out building cleaning duties. Duties will include: sweeping and mopping building stairwells (both interior and exterior), wiping handrails, removing cobwebs, wiping down surfaces such as mailboxes, cleaning laundry rooms and fitness centers, cleaning clubhouses and offices, etc.

Building cleans can be either outside or inside and are done year-round so candidates must be willing to work in all seasons and temperatures.

Reliability and attention to detail is an absolute must. This is a part-time position starting out, but has potential to grow into a full-time rotating schedule.

We need someone to start ASAP! Opportunities exist on both sides of the water, from Newport News, to Portsmouth, to Norfolk and Virginia Beach, etc. Candidates willing to commute to all areas of Hampton Roads looking for full-time employment will be strongly considered.

Responsibilities

• Deep clean all common areas of an apartment building or common area such as hallways, stairwells, laundry rooms, fitness centers, and clubhouses including, but not limited to: wiping down all surfaces, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, windows, etc. Note: hallway & breezeway cleans are outside in all seasons and temperatures, candidates who accept these jobs must be willing to work year-round. Schedule adjustments are made for severely inclement weather.
• Perform and document routine inspection and cleaning activities with a provided checklist
• Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects as needed
• Notify management of deficiencies or needs for repairs
• Ability to follow a given schedule, with a degree of flexibility for unforeseen changes and additions that occur from time to time
• Follow all health and safety regulations including proper use of PPE, chemicals, and equipment

Skills

• Proven working experience as a cleaner - references are a plus! Experience is not required, we are willing to train anyone who is willing to work hard and follow a checklist but it is a plus
• Ability to handle moderately heavy power equipment (gas-powered leaf blowers are used in exterior hallways and breezeways)
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, and how to use them
• Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
• Integrity, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and punctuality
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Excellent time management skills to ensure tasks are completed efficiently
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and customer service skills

Requirements

• Driver's license with reliable vehicle to report to job locations and to restock supplies on a recurring schedule.
• Cell phone with internet capabilities - all scheduling & time keeping is done through an app

Note: This position may require occasional weekend or evening shifts if you have the availability and want to work, but those jobs are only occasional and not required to be considered for these positions.

Starting rate of pay is $16.00/hour with raises being considered after 90 days of positive working experience. Additional opportunities for promotions to Crew Leader as well as performance bonuses are available for top-performing candidates.
