Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in team development and on-going learning opportunities. This position requires a strong commitment to quality service and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in detailed cleaning projects - both residential and commercial. Excellent communication skills is required, as well as a positive and upbeat attitude, commitment to excellence, adherence to policies and procedures, and the ability to lead and train others to do the same.
Main focus for this role is training new team members, training and coaching existing team, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing a plan to do so, motivating team members, and cross-training to support a well-rounded team.
Secondary focus will be completing cleaning jobs as-needed, if no immediate training needs are present. This is mainly to keep a full-time schedule in place.
Duties
- Train new and existing team members on policies and procedures, use of cleaning tools and chemicals, best practices, and professional execution of tasks as assigned
- Perform thorough cleaning of assigned areas, ensuring all surfaces are sanitized and maintained to high standards.
- Manage housekeeping tasks including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and restroom sanitation.
- Oversee custodial duties in commercial environments, ensuring that all cleaning supplies are stocked and equipment is well-maintained.
- Supervise cleaning staff when necessary, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
- Collaborate with management to develop training schedules that optimize efficiency while meeting very high client expectations.
- Test new products and provide honest feedback; implement the adaptation of new products and provide training for the team.
- Occasionally support Management with tasks such as inspections, etc.
Experience
- Previous experience in housekeeping management or commercial cleaning in a management or training role is preferred.
- Familiarity with custodial practices.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage people effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering excellence.
- Ability to work flexible hours, while maintaining a positive attitude.
You will be a leader and influencer in the company so a great attitude and positive mindset is expected at all times.
Experience with technology to implement training concepts (such as Canva, use of AI, etc.) is highly desired.
We have clients all over Hampton Roads... so willingness to work on both sides of the water is expected.
We are looking for someone who is an excellent cleaner, and who can train/coach others to also hold the same standards.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
