Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Manage incoming calls, directing them to the appropriate departments or personnel.
- Schedule appointments and maintain an organized calendar for the office.
- Collect patient information and verify insurance details accurately.
- Process medical billing and manage patient accounts using software such as Dentrix.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
- Stay updated on ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding practices to assist with billing inquiries.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure smooth operation of the front desk.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a receptionist or in an administrative role within a hospital or medical office is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and medical billing processes is essential.
- Proficient in using phone systems and basic office equipment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of Dentrix software is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
- Must be able to inhale deeply for specific tasks related to patient interactions.
