Position Summary:
Coastal Community Health is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Assistant/Front Desk Specialist to join our School-Based Health Clinic team in McIntosh County Schools. This dual-role position combines clinical and administrative responsibilities, ensuring seamless patient care and efficient clinic operations. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, skilled professional who excels in patient interaction, multitasking, and maintaining a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Support:
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring they are comfortable and informed.
- Assist physicians and nurses during exams and procedures.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians.
- Perform basic laboratory work, including collecting and processing samples.
- Apply first aid techniques and utilize common medications to address injuries or alleviate symptoms.
- Educate patients and families about procedures, treatment plans, and preventive care.
Administrative Duties:
- Greet and check in patients, ensuring all required forms and insurance information are accurately completed.
- Answer patient inquiries or direct them to the appropriate healthcare professional.
- Maintain patient medical records with attention to detail and confidentiality.
- File insurance claims accurately and promptly.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar.
- Prepare examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for use.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent training is preferred.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems (experience in eCW a plus).
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
