In this position you will manage sourcing strategies, supplier quality assurance, and purchasing operations in the corrugated packaging box industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, supplier evaluation, ERP systems (preferably Amtech), and the ability to develop and implement process improvement to drive operational excellence and compliance.

Essential Functions

• Supplier Sourcing & Procurement
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for materials, equipment, and services.
• Place and manage purchase orders using Amtech ERP.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support production schedules.
• Supplier Quality Management
• Develop and maintain supplier performance scorecards.
• Conduct supplier audits for quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Initiate corrective and preventive actions for nonconforming materials.
• Cost Management & Analysis
• Monitor and analyze market trends for cost control opportunities.
• Support cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality.
• Cross-functional Collaboration
• Work closely with production, engineering, and warehouse teams to address material needs and quality concerns.
• Assist with new product introductions and supplier transitions.
• Documentation & Compliance
• Ensure procurement activities meet internal SOPs and industry regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of supplier certifications, audits, and corrective actions.
• Safety & Risk Management
• Participate in or lead the development of JSAs for supplier interactions, warehouse visits, and raw material handling.
• Support company-wide health and safety goals through supplier partnership.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing and supplier quality, preferably in the corrugated packaging industry.
• Strong working knowledge of Amtech ERP or equivalent systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical documents, and product specifications is a plus.
