Coastal Detox, Inc. is looking for a LPN/RN with Substance Abuse Detox Setting Experience. KIPU EMR Experience a must. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promotes a safe and therapeutic milieu for the clients.
- Completes medication administration for all clients during scheduled medication pass times.
- Conducts nursing assessment and screens for all new admissions.
- Obtains doctor’s orders for all new medications, procedures, and tasks. Meets with clients requesting to see the
- providers to determine urgency of their medical needs and expedites treatment as required.
- Effectively communicates concerns about client health to the Medical Director and/or medical provider and follows up as necessary.
- Under the supervision of the Medical Director and Director of Nursing, assists in educating clients about health problems and medical care.
- Facilitates medication education for all new clients and for any new medications ordered.
- Takes verbal orders from medical providers, documents them in the client electronic medical record, and carries them out accurately and efficiently.
- Encourages efficient utilization of supplies and equipment to prevent waste.
- Maintains effective communication regarding client treatment issues between outside medical services and the facility.
- Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and DCF and The Joint Commission regulations regarding client’s information, including but not limited to keeping client and company information and procedures confidential.
- Follows Infection Control guidelines at all times.
- Demonstrates ability to collaborate with others.
- Adapts to changing situations or work assignments.
- Protects client confidentiality as required by State and Federal Privacy Laws.
- Participates in continuing educational programs as prescribed by company policy, as well as attendance to company and department staff meetings per policy.
- Participates in in-service trainings as outlined by company within designated timeframes.
- Completes all tasks with concern for work quality.
- Performs other duties as assigned by direct supervisor. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Must be an LPN.
- Must have Kipu EMR experience.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Knowledge of substance abuse field (specifically detoxification units) and withdrawal symptoms required.
- Knowledge of twelve step program preferred.
REQUIRED:
- Must have years of experience in a similar position or similar function in Detox setting.
- Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.
- Must be detail-oriented.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
