Purpose:
The lube truck operator will safely drive the lube truck to sites as assigned by the Fleet Manager and upon arrival to the site, complete routine maintenance, lubrication, and oil changes on Company owned and rented equipment in an effort to maximize equipment life and performance.
Responsibilities:
Perform servicing of gasoline and diesel powered vehicles and equipment, including fueling, lubrication, changing oil, changing air and oil filters, and checking and adding fluids, including windshield washer, transmission, cooling system, brakes, and differential systems
Proactively communicate with the Fleet Manager and operations team members to provide maintenance notes, repair updates, and expected schedule updates
Monitor records and track hours of service for assigned vehicles and the lube truck
Perform minor repairs on the lube truck and assigned equipment including brake adjustments, leak repairs, and removal and installation of radiators and thermostats
Replace hoses, fan belts, alternators, regulators, and batteries
Operate assigned lube truck to travel to project locations as directed
Use GPS to stay informed of route information, and communicate with supervisors and colleagues using a cellular phone, CB radio, and a company email
Maintain a valid CDL driver’s license, DOT medical card, and applicable endorsements
Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs
Adhere to traffic safety regulations at all times, exercise caution in treacherous circumstances and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors and highway authorities
May perform other duties performed by Equipment Service Workers.
Education, Licensure, & Certifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Valid State Issued Driver's License
Valid Class B (or A) CDL driver’s license is preferred but not required
Valid DOT medical/physical card with long form is preferred
Experience & Qualifications:
Must have 3 years of heavy equipment maintenance experience
Must have previous lube truck operator experience
Must possess a clean motor vehicle driving record with no major moving violations
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check screen
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test screen
Ability to read and interrupt maps, GPS directions, and routes
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the US to assignments as directed by management
Ability to utilize a Company computer for email, maintenance ticket submissions, and recording maintenance notes
Travel :
Daily travel to local and regional project locations required
Physical Requirements:
The individual must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, life vest, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done
Ability to sit for 30 minutes to 6 hours while driving
Ability to stand for 30 minutes-1 hour while unloading vehicle
Ability to walk to and from the vehicle (50 to 300 feet at one time)
Walking, stepping, climbing or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another, and normally involves physically getting into and out of equipment through the use of vertical mounted ladders up to and including 10’ or more in height
Visually seeing driving operations well (either naturally or with corrective lenses)
Standing, stooping kneeling, squatting, climbing and sitting
Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of work
Working at elevated heights
Lifting 75 lb. objects occasionally
Carrying 75 lb. objects occasionally
Adapting to outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure to sometimes adverse weather conditions
Remaining calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident
Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions
Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments and holidays as required
